The bug occurs when the region is active. It does not occur when I have a file dedicated to the subtree, mark a region, but don't have an active region (transient-mark-mode is off). When I do the latter but it is part of a larger file there is a wrong type argument error. *** [[http://google.com][hi]] text Here is a minimal .emacs. Can you please send me the exact buffer you are using, the exact range
that is covered by the active region, and the command you then use?
So far I have not been abe to reproduce what you are saying.

Hi Samuel,
now I can reproduce the problem.
It happens because you are marking exactly a subtree,
and the headline of the subtree becomes the *title* of
the exported, and indeed, links in titles are not formatted
correctly - the same is true for HTML export.
A worg-around would be to start the region *before* the headline,
then it will not be accepted as exactly one subtree and the
headline will just become a headline, not a title.
