This is just sub/superscripted text in normal flowing text. For proper inline math-mode you have to use: \( A_{x}B_{1-x} \) If instead you want an unnumbered equation, use: \[ A_{x}B_{1-x} \] Hope this helps, -- Suvayu Open source is the future.
